Social foundation offers this two-month long summer program for students to learn about the open-source culture and getting involved in the community. Participants contribute to real-life projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Participation in this event does not require any expertise. All you need is a little enthusiasm towards technology and will to work with & for the community.
Besides a real feel of the software developement industry, participants will also get certicates to strengthen their resumes and swags ofcourse.
Code newbie or pro, you can always give back to the community one way or other. Put to use your skills, however minimal and contribute code that can potentially be used by millions.
Getting started in open source is often overwhelming. Mentors help newcomers overcome the barriers they face in their first steps towards contribution.
